A bit about me
Growing up I was a competitive swimmer. I loved being in the water. However I also loved competing a school cross country races and on the track. After winning inter school races I started gain a passion for running. Having a twin brother that also did the same sports it made it even more competitive. Just before university I decided to quit swimming and focus on running. I went to St Marys University in Twickenham London. I joined the EPACC (endurance performance centre as it was known then) where all athletes are in the same halls. I feel this is a very different university experience to most, but made me the person I am today. Along side running competitively I was studying sports science, aiding my training with science. I’ve worked for different running brands including ON running and Saucony so am always on hand to help with shoe recommendations! I’ve also valued running run clubs in and around London with these jobs and am keen to get more people involved with the sport!
Interesting fact: I’m a trained barista. If you need a coffee recommendation I’m always here!
Coaching philosophy
My style of coaching focuses around effective communication between the athlete and the coach. For me communication between athlete and coach is key, you know your body best. Working together in a collaborative based approach helps improve the coaching relationship and experience in order for you to get the best out of yourself.
I also put a high value on consistency in training. By making sure you stay injury free you are able to create those week on week adaptations and see improvement across a training block. Overall though, the most important thing for me is that you are enjoying your training and having fun throughout the process. There are always tough sessions you've got to get through but if you aren’t enjoying it then you won’t want to improve!
